Learning about the weather is a fantastic opportunity for preschoolers! Students can learn all about the different kinds of weather and even to track the daily weather with a weather chart. Our Free weather tracing worksheets are wonderful for building small motor skills as well as teaching children about different types of weather.
We’ve designed a set of free weather worksheets you’ll want to add to your thematic weather unit! Each worksheet features a different type of weather for students to trace and then to write. Many students will use these as free weather coloring pages as they are fun to color in as well.
Our free weather printables are ready to go! You can simply print them out and hand students some crayons and you’re all set. However, here are some variations you might want to try.
First, if you want to reuse the pages, simply slide them into a page protector and provide students with dry-erase markers. This is a great option if you are wanting to use them with multiple children, or in a classroom setting.
Second, you might have students trace the line with markers and then use lighter crayons or colored pencils to completely color in the picture. This makes for a pretty effect when all colored in.
Third, if you have a student who really wants to build fine motor skills, you can use glitter glue to complete the pictures. This is another great way to work those small motor muscles and control. This is much more challenging, so be sure your student is ready for this type of activity first. I found it difficult, so it might be better for older students to build grip.
To expand learning, pair this activity with our free printable weather chart for extra fun! This chart can be used daily to track the weather. We’ve got a varitey of other free weather printables, such as wordwall cards, coloring pages, sequencing games and more.
